The Society for Motion Picture and Television Engineers is a long established (1908!) industry body specialising in the meeting point of creativity and technology. AUT’s student chapter is associated with this centre, and works with SMPTE on student experience, curriculum enhancement, and design research.
The CTMT research centre specialises in Creative Arts 4.0, TechMedia Culture and Digital Cultural Heritage. Their emphasis on the relationship between technology and creativity align closely with that of the VCD, and is the basis for a co-hosted virtual symposia, research projects and mutual staff exchange.
Edinburgh Napier’s CCP research centre’s emphasis on transdisciplinary, creativity and collaboration make it a perfect partner for VCD. Plans include research seminar series, co-taught HDR students and research projects.
Cradle is a research and development lab part of Breda University of Applied Sciences, which hosts the annual Virtual Production Gathering, as well as being the focus for several ground-breaking virtual production research projects funded through the EU. Plans include a multi-national network of VP partners.
